On March 24, the international coalition forces launched new air strikes on “military and civilian targets” in Tripoli, ITAR TASS reports referring to Libyan state television.

The Daily Telegraph reports that one of the targets was the barracks of Bab al-Aziz, where the Libyan leader’s residence and bunker are situated. The forces attacked the barracks last week too.

“An explosion was heard in Tripoli early on Thursday and smoke could be seen rising from a military base,” Reuters reports.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a wave of unrest continues in Libya since February. The demonstrators protest against leader Muammar Gaddafi who has been in power for more than 40 years.
