US President Donald Trump said he looks forward to positive discourse with China.
“We look forward to continuing our positive dialogue with China on a comprehensive Trade Deal, and feel that the future between our two countries will be a very bright one!” he wrote on Twitter.
Earlier, however, Trump announced the imposing of new US tariffs on Chinese goods, and which will come into force as of September 1.
