On March 25, Libyan rebels retook eastern part of Ajdabiya oil town from the troops loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.

According to RIA Novosti, gunfire could be heard  160km south of Benghazi, the rebels’ stronghold.

On Friday, forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi shelled a residential area near the city of Misrata and killed 6 people, including 3 children, Reuters reports referring to oppositional forces.

A wave of unrest continues in Libya since February. The demonstrators protest against leader Muammar Gaddafi who has been in power for more than 40 years. Gaddafi’s opponents seized many cities in the eastern part of the country. Clashes between rebels and pro-Gaddafi forces continue.
