Revolution scenarios of the Arab states will not work in Armenia. Azerbaijan, the country with sultanate regime, has to fear such developments, MP from the Republican Party of Armenia told journalists on Monday.

Karine Achemyan noted that Armenia is on its way to democratization. “A 20-years’ history showed we are holding normal election, as far as possible. None of three presidents has changed the Constitution. I think there will be no such problems in the future as well,” she said. The MP deems Armenia is faced with social and economic problems, not political ones.

MP from the opposition Heritage Party Anahit Bakhshyan also present at a press conference stressed Armenia’s ruling regime can be characterized as a mixture of authoritarian and totalitarian system bearing no relation to the Constitution.
