YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is trying to dispel doubts that he may have a special attitude towards First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, political scientist Vigen Hakobyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He noted that one cannot disagree with Pashinyan's statement that after 1996, all elections - except for the 1999 elections - were rigged in Armenia.

As per Hakobyan, this statement, however, was unexpected for many as it relates to the period of the flourishing of the Pan-Armenian National Movement. "It is well known that many representatives of the current government are closely connected with that period," he said. “This is the second statement recently made in which Nikol Pashinyan reflects on the years of Levon Ter-Petrosyan's presidency. The first was made during a meeting with Russian journalists."
