The EU strongly believes CEPA will create new opportunities, new jobs for people and will help in shaping an economy that works for all, Lawrence Meredith, Director for the EU's Eastern Neighbourhood at the European Commission, said in Yerevan.

He recalled that EU is doing a substantial investment of 23 million euros to support the reforms in Armenia, and spoke about a 10-million facility, which will help access finance and will be crucial for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Lawrence Meredith underlined three key points about Armenia. Firstly, the EU sees an ambitious vision from the PM and the government in terms of reforms. Secondly, Armenia’s IT sector is very important in terms of investment and is “at the heart of what you are doing.”

“And finally, we are investing in youth. Armenia’s future is in its people,” he added.
