YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: [PM] Nikol Pashinyan is discussing the issue of holding snap parliamentary elections in the month of June; even specific days are noted: Sundays, June 6 or June 20.

The relevant structures have been instructed to consider on what day they will manage. But before that, he is trying to come to an agreement with the opposition arena, especially the parliamentary forces, so that they do not nominate a new candidate for prime minister after his resignation. The NA [National Assembly] opposition is resisting.

It is not ruled out that if no agreement is reached, Pashinyan will give up his intention, especially since the power circles have circulated, in recent days, the idea of getting the opinion of the Venice Commission on the new Electoral Code, organizing the elections at least six months after that. And the next Venice Commission session where the RA EC [Electoral Code] can be considered is scheduled for March; and the [respective] bill will enter the parliament in April.
