Armenia’s Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan today received the delegation led by United Nations Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp.
The finance minister highly appreciated the cooperation and exchange of experience and thanked Sharp for the willingness to support Armenia in different directions in the current conditions.
In his turn, Sharp underscored the need for discussions on the priorities for future cooperation with Armenia and attached special importance to the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2021-2025 which is currently being considered. Sharp also stated the provision of social support is in the UN’s focus and that the UN’s operations will be maximally aimed at contributing to sustainable and inclusive growth in Armenia. He also touched upon funding for implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a major direction for cooperation with the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, the finance minister presented the economic situation and the latest developments in Armenia and highlighted the international community’s trust in Armenia’s economic environment, evidence of which is the interest shown in the $750,000,000-dollar Eurobonds that Armenia distributed in the global capital market a few days ago.
