An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) can be highly effective not only during search and rescue operations following a disaster, but also for the provision of assistance to expeditions and tourists. The specialists of the State Academy for Crisis Management at the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia have launched research to learn how to use UAVs during search and rescue operations, and field experiments were conducted in the territory adjacent to the Armenian city of Stepanavan of Lori Province from February 4 to 8.
After the appropriate studies and practical activities, a model that will be use of UAVs during search and rescue operations will be formed, and it will be helpful and applicable for rescuers.
