Armenia’s Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan today received UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Dmitry Mariyasin.
Greeting the UNDP Resident Representative, the minister underscored the ongoing effective cooperation with the UNDP and indicated the joint development programs in the areas of small and medium-sized enterprises, agriculture and tourism.
Mariyasin congratulated the minister on his appointment and emphasized the need for implementation of new programs based on innovations.
During the meeting, the parties attached importance to the conduct of regular consultations in the fields of agriculture, small reservoirs and promotion of investments. The minister informed about the initiative to create non-agricultural jobs in rural areas, providing residents of rural communities with the opportunity to work in the tourism sector, light industry, etc. He also talked about the pretentious idea of turning Yerevan into a hub for high technologies in the region.
Mariyasin touched upon the eregulations.am platform of the UNDP and the Asian Development Bank and offered to continue to work harder for the promotion of investments and the implementation of joint programs for the growth of tourism.
