It is important for judges to maintain impartiality when rendering the right and balanced decisions and announcing fair decisions. This is what candidate for chairperson of the Court of Cassation of Armenia Lilit Tadevosyan said during today’s discussion on her nomination in parliament.

Tadevosyan specifically focused on the ensuring of independence of the judiciary which, according to her, is the guarantee and unique precondition for fair administration of justice, as well as the precondition for rule of law. “It will be impossible to ensure justice without guaranteeing the independence of judges, and this means the provision of guarantees in terms of practice, operations, structure, funding and social guarantees,” Tadevosyan stressed.
