YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes: The volume of [Natural] gas imports to Armenia has increased over the past year.
Zhoghovurd daily learned from official sources that the volume of "highway pipeline" cargo transportation increased by 1.8 percent. Moreover, in the case of this type of cargo transportation, the official statistics do not separate export and import, as the general word is only about imports—and about [natural] gas for a specific type of product, in that; that is, we can record that [natural] gas imports to Armenia last year, compared to 2019, albeit slightly, but increased.
On the other hand, according to official data, a slight increase in the volume of cargo transportation was recorded in Armenia last year. Total cargo transportation, compared to 2019, increased by 0.7 percent and amounted to 14 million 822 thousand tons.
Cargo exports decreased by 14.4 percent, imports—by 15.1 percent, instead, the volume of domestic cargo transportation by railway increased by 10.6 percent.
