YEREVAN. – The French Embassy in Armenia on Wednesday hosted the inaugural meeting of the Health Care Armenia initiative, the embassy reported.

French Ambassador Jonathan Lacote welcomed the launch of this initiative, which aims to meet the need for coordination between the French players in healthcare cooperation with Armenia, as well as with their Armenian counterparts.

Lacote added that health care was at the core of Armenian-French bilateral cooperation more than ever, and that this initiative aims to lay the foundation for long-term structural cooperation.

Health Care Armenia initiative unites more than 250 healthcare professionals from well-known French institutions.

From the Armenian side, the Ministry of Health, the medical university, and several other institutions, foundations, and NGOs are the interested parties of this initiative.

At the end of this first meeting, a roadmap for future cooperation goals and projects was drawn up.

Also, an agreement was reached to soon hold the first convention of healthcare professionals from the two countries.
