The Constitutional Court of Armenia postponed to April 20 of this year the consideration of the MPs appeal of the opposition party on the procedure for introducing amendments to the Constitution.

According to Bright Armenia head Edmon Marukyan, after the adoption of the constitutional amendments in the first reading, the National Assembly did not send the draft to the Constitutional Court for an opinion. Touching upon another reason for appealing to the Constitutional Court, Marukyan noted that the Armenian president had previously been deprived of the authority to sign the adopted draft amendments to the Constitution, while the amendments were signed by the parliament's speaker.
