According to one of the Iranian media, India has announced—through the lips of its ambassador to Iran—that it is going to include Armenia in the North-South transport corridor—to be created through the Iranian port of Chabahar—which will connect Eurasia and Scandinavia with the Indian Ocean. Iranian Studies specialist Vardan Voskanyan wrote about this on Facebook.

"If the words of the Indian ambassador were conveyed correctly by the Iranian media, then a serious change has taken place in the approaches of Delhi. The thing is that the above-mentioned corridor was supposed to pass through the territory of Azerbaijan, whereas now Armenia is especially emphasized.

What could have caused such a sharp turn? The most obvious answer lies in Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations, which have taken on a virtually allied nature—with the Turkish 'godfathership'—especially in recent times. So, India seems to be guided by the logical principle of 'my enemy's friend is at least not my friend,' trying—in this context—to look in the direction of Armenia," Voskanyan added in particular.
