YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes: At the moment, the topic of snap parliamentary elections remains an agenda issue of the domestic government and the opposition.

So far, the proclamations sent to the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary opposition on behalf of the authorities have given the impression that the elections will take place in June.

Now the enlisting process has started in the political field. The government and the opposition are contacting people with “authority,” asking [them] to join, run in the elections with a joint list.

If the opposition believes that the electoral system should not be changed, then the authorities intend to discuss the Electoral Code in this parliament. (…). In any case, it is not ruled out that [PM] Nikol Pashinyan has his preferred time to go to the elections and has a clearly-formed agenda, but he does not say it honestly even before his [political] team.

Let us note, however, that if there is an intention to hold elections in June, the process of dissolving the parliament has to start already. (…). 14 days are needed only for the self-dissolution of the parliament.
