The majority My Step faction has submitted a petition to the Council of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia to convene a special sitting of the NA on Friday. We are informed about this from the official website of the parliament.
A package of bills on making changes to the Judicial Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, the Civil Procedure Code, the Administrative Procedure Code, and the Law on State Duty are on the agenda of this special session.
The My Step MPs propose to convene a special sitting of the NA to debate on this package of bills in the first and second readings, but without the conclusion of the parliamentary steering committee:.
The reasoning behind this package of bills states that the urgency of adopting this package is conditioned by the need to resolve the issues facing Armenia’s judiciary as soon as possible.
