During today’s parliamentary session, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan criticized deputy of the opposition Bright Armenia Party Anna Kostanyan and said police officers need to receive more bonuses.
Kostanyan particularly made a statement about the amount of bonuses that were paid to employees of the State Revenue Committee and the Ministry of Finance in 2020.
“Recently, one of the 17 deputies of the Bright Armenia faction said police officers have received bonuses. It’s good that they received them. They should receive more,” Simonyan said, adding that police are maintaining order so that the people marching on the streets of Yerevan don’t attack reporters.
Simonyan was rather coarse when he criticized Kostanyan for her statement about bonuses for employees of the State Revenue Committee and the Ministry of Finance, adding that the deputy forgets that people receive their salaries on time, taxes are collected effectively and there is no systemic corruption and that if state institutions do their job well, the employees need to receive bonuses.
