YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: During 2019, when Russian denier Nikol Pashinyan who was acting from a sworn pro-Western position while in opposition was already in power, only 3 of the 9 measures envisaged by the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced [Partnership] Agreement (CEPA) roadmap were implemented. RA former First Deputy Minister of Economy, RA former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Netherlands Garegin Melkonyan provided such information in a conversation with Zhoghovurd daily.

"If I had failed by 20-30 percent in any program when I was deputy minister, it would have caused a lot of noise. But in the case of EU measures, in fact, we have even 70-percent underperformance, and that is believed unconditionally. Why is no one talking about this? I would like to get the answer to that question myself, "Melkonyan said, noting that the programs and measures related to the EU have not decreased noticeably, but sharply and considerably, appearing in the 2nd-3rd background during Pashinyan's rule.

According to the CEPA roadmap, it was planned to implement 35 measures in 2020, but the former ambassador is not sure that they, or even a small percentage of them, can be brought to fruition.
