Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Armenia Bahaa El Din Bahgat.

As reported the Prosecutor General’s Office, Davtyan emphasized the high level and friendly nature of Armenian-Egyptian relations in all sectors and stressed that, in spite of this, there is unrealized potential for deepening of the cooperation between the two countries in the legal field. He voiced hope that the establishment of more direct communication between the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia and the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt will help increase interest in this area, the need for which is conditioned by the rise in the number of reciprocal visits of citizens of Armenia and Egypt.

Ambassador Bahaa El Din Bahgat expressed gratitude for the reception and transmitted his country’s willingness for expansion of relations in the legal field as well, noting that Egypt is ready to consider the proposals to enrich the Armenian-Egyptian multi-vector agenda in this direction as well.

The prospects for cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office of Egypt and bringing the legal framework into compliance with the current needs for capacity-building of the Offices of Prosecutors General of both countries were discussed during the meeting.
