YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan welcomed positive integration of all interested states and powers in reinforcing peace in Southern Caucasus region, he said in the interview with Image.ua.
“This refers especially to Ukraine, which is a traditional partner for all states of the region. South Caucasus is not a trouble-free region as there are several unsolved and tightened conflicts. When dealing with the region one should always remember the words of Hypocrite ‘do not damage’,” Sargsyan stressed.
The president stressed the importance to avoid and prevent the possibility of an escalation of tension in the region. As the recent experience showed, results of the escalation may be catastrophic and tragic for the whole region. However, South Caucasus states should get ready for peace gradually, and should “shift not only politics but also economy on the tracks of peace-time,” Sargsyan added.
