YEREVAN. – Armenia’s ruling Republican Party MP Gagik Melikyan does not exclude that oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) and the coalition will resume the dialogue, he told the journalists on Wednesday.
“No proper or improper reasons should be used to hinder the dialogue. I believe that ANC will realize that it should not speak to the authorities in a language of ultimatum. Authorities think that ANC will express readiness to continue the dialogue,” Melikyan stated adding the ANC had no reason to suspend the dialogue.
According to him, the dialogue is a result of correct, balanced and reserved policy of the President. Thus, they believe that ANC will also adopt balanced approach to continue the talks.
Melikyan also stressed that the incident with ANC activists, particularly Tigran Arakelyan, was only an opportunity to suspend the process. Eventually ANC will understand inexpediency of its offers and will continue the dialogue.
