Ankara is ready to veto Israel’s request of opening a mission at the NATO headquarters in Brussels, said Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu in an interview to CNN Turk. 

According to ISRALand portal, a source in relevant agency of Israel does not confirm this information, explaining that Jerusalem has not yet received an official response from NATO on establishment of NATO office in the Jewish state.

Israel has a permanent representative in the rank of Major at the headquarters of NATO’s Southern Command in Italy.

Israeli navy ships regularly participate in joint patrols with NATO naval units (mainly with Italian ships) in the Mediterranean Sea. According to Turkish media the decision to veto a request by Israel is not irreversible and depends on the political situation.
