YEREVAN. - Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan, who was on a work visit to US, on Monday attended Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s reception organized in his honor.
In his remarks at the reception, Serzh Sargsyan thanked for the warm hospitality and stressed that, throughout his visit to the United States, he was very proud to represent the Armenian people, Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Noting that he now is in a city where the most number of Armenians live outside of Armenia, President Sargsyan expressed his gratitude to the local authorities and mayor of Los Angeles and also to all friends of the Armenian people, for their warm and friendly attitude toward our compatriots.
“Our friendship is eternal, and I am very happy that Armenian-American relations have strengthened to a great extent in recent years. We are a young democratic country, but we are guided by those ideas for 1,700 years. And today, as well, our friend’s assistance and our potential help us secure progress in our country,” Armenia’s President stated.
Ending his work visit to US, President Serzh Sargsyan headed to France for a 2-day official visit.
