YEREVAN. – Establishment of Eurasian union featuring all former Soviet Union states is an idea which needs to find concrete forms, Russian political scientist Andrei Areshev said at a press conference on Monday.

“This is not the first integration of former Soviet Union republics. There were various ideas. Eurasian union is first of all an economic union, based on the economic interests and pragmatism. Besides, another idea should be adopted,” the political scientist said.

Areshev paid attention to the following problem: is Russia trying to create its centre of attraction, or is it more inclined to U.S. or China? There should be another idea which will unite former Soviet Union states except for mere economic calculations, the expert concluded.
