Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said at a joint press conference after a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sibiga in Ankara that relations between Ankara and Kyiv were developing dynamically.

According to Turkish media reports, Fidan expressed condolences over the deaths of Ukrainians during the conflict.

“The struggle of the Ukrainian people, who have shown great tolerance, resilience, and courage, deserves all respect. I want to reiterate that we support the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine, including Crimea,” he emphasized.

The Turkish minister said that efforts to resolve the conflict on the basis of international law will continue.

“The defense industry is one of the important aspects of our bilateral relations. We also discussed developments in this field at today's meeting,” he said.

Fidan emphasized that Turkey and Ukraine are linked not only by geographical proximity but also by a common history.

“Crimean Tatars are part of this common history. The Ukrainian government, under the leadership of (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky, has taken commendable legal measures to strengthen the rights of Crimean Tatars. We are confident that additional steps will be taken in this direction. Ukraine is our strategic partner. We will continue our efforts to deepen our relations in all fields,” the Turkish foreign minister concluded.
