Turkey's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ahmet Yildiz, announced the launch of a “Joint Letter” initiative calling for an end to arms deliveries to Israel, local media reported.
Yıldız emphasized that “all borders have been crossed” in Gaza and Israel is committing “unprecedented war crimes,” bringing the region to the brink of a full-scale war. He also noted that Israel continues its targeted attacks on the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
He also pointed to the growing tension between Israel and Lebanon, Syria and Iran. He called on the UN Security Council (UNSC) to use all available tools for an immediate ceasefire, unimpeded humanitarian aid and respect for international law.
