The latest candidate was Brooke Rollins, who was proposed by the US President-elect to head the Department of Agriculture, BBC reported.

During Trump's first presidential term, Rollins was his domestic policy adviser. She then became executive director of the America First Policy Institute, a think tank created to promote Trump's political and economic ideas. She was considered for the post of White House chief of staff, but the post went to Susie Wiles, Trump's campaign manager.

The day before Trump named a candidate for the post of Treasury Secretary: billionaire Scott Bessent, Trump's chief economic adviser, became his nominee.
