YEREVAN. – With Armenian Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan’s idea, a new division will be established in the country’s Police Force, and it will carry out external activities, specifically during mass events, Hraparak daily writes.

“Although there are such divisions, the Patrol Guard Service [PGS], for example, this will substantially differ from PGS. It will be an ‘elite service,’ whose representatives will be endowed with great knowledge and several skills. They will be fluent in English, render first aid—including delivering babies—and they will be skilled in holding civil talks with the citizens. According to the newspaper’s source, during his meeting with the candidates of this division, Gasparyan stressed that they must become the ‘guardian angels of the citizens.’ [And] Women will also be included [in this division],” Hraparak writes.
