President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received outgoing U.S. Ambassador Matthew Bryza.

He said US President Barack Obama’s letter of congratulation to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on his 50th jubilee is an example of high assessment given by the United States to the partnership with Azerbaijan.

In his turn Azerbaijani leader expressed satisfaction with development of relations between U.S. and Azerbaijan. He expressed gratitude to Ambassador Bryza for his contribution to development of relations between the two countries, APA agency reports.

Matthew Bryza was appointed by Barack Obama without Senate’s confirmation. In this case ambassador is appointed for a year, while the recurrent appointment is impossible without Senate’s approval.
