North Korea has tested the combat effectiveness of the Choe Ryong multi-purpose minelayer weapons system launched last week, reports the Korean Central News Agency.
The first tests of these minelayer weapons systems took place on Monday and Tuesday. In particular, test launches of hypersonic cruise missiles, strategic cruise missiles, and air defense missiles were carried out, as well as firing from a 127-millimeter deck automatic cannon.
Anti-ship tactical guided weapons, deck automatic cannons, smoke cannons, and radio jamming cannons were also tested.
These tests were followed by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who stressed the need to "accelerate the nuclear armament of the Navy to protect the state and maritime sovereignty from existing and potential threats."
