US President Donald Trump will head to the Middle East for a tour, the official part of which will be held from Tuesday to Friday, and he will visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Apart from a brief visit to Rome for the funeral of Pope Francis, this will be the incumbent US president's first full foreign trip since taking office on January 20. In his first presidential term (2017-2021), Saudi Arabia also was the first country Trump had visited on an official visit.

As expected, Trump will participate in the US-Gulf Cooperation Council summit in Riyadh. According to American media, the president expects to present his vision for the US role and objectives in the Middle East. According to Axios sources, the summit is scheduled for Wednesday.

One of the main goals of this visit will be to conclude economic deals and attract investments to the American economy. The matter of resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is expected to be discussed, too. Qatar is a key mediator in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian radical Hamas movement. Trump plans to discuss world oil prices as well. Reducing them to accelerate US economic growth is one of the main objectives of the Trump administration.

The American delegation to accompany Trump in this trip will fly separately from the US president to attend bilateral meetings with their counterparts in the region, sources have told CNN.
