U.S. President Donald Trump's administration struck several new agreements with the Saudi government on Tuesday, as President Donald Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman seek to emphasize the close ties between the two countries, CNN reported.

At an official signing ceremony in the gilded ballroom of Riyadh's Royal Court, the two leaders signed memorandums of understanding, letters of intent and other executive agreements covering various government agencies.

Many of them focused on military cooperation between the two countries, including “modernizing and developing the capabilities of the Saudi armed forces through future defense capabilities,” expanding cooperation on “training in ammunition, support services, modernization of maintenance systems, spare parts and training for the National Guard's ground and air systems,” and a project to “develop the medical capabilities of the Saudi armed forces. 

Other agreements were signed, including cooperation between the countries' customs authorities, “medical research related to infectious diseases,” “judicial cooperation” and partnership between the Saudi Ministry of Interior and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, among others.
