According to trading data, the price of gold has set a new all-time high at COMEX, a division of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX).

At trading on April 2, futures for the delivery of this precious metal rose by 1.12% to $3,201.6 per troy ounce (31.1 grams). Never in history has gold been so expensive. On the morning of April 3, however, the price had settled at $3,171.5—up 0.02% from the previous day—per troy ounce.

Gold had set its previous record at trading on March 27. The stock exchange price of gold had risen more than 1.5%, exceeding $3,100 per troy ounce for the first time in history.

The situation with these jumps in gold prices is linked to demand for safe assets amid fears of tariff threats from the administration of US President Donald Trump.
