On June 13, the European Council of the European Union (EU) expects to reach a political agreement on extending the temporary protection status of Ukrainian citizens until March 2027, according to the statement on the agenda of the June 13 meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council of the European Council.
The European Council will discuss the prolonging of the temporary protection status of Ukrainian citizens in the EU until March 2027 due to the war and expects to reach a political agreement on this matter.
A final decision on this matter will be taken in the coming weeks.
In addition, EU ministers will discuss options for transitioning from temporary protection status to another status.
