Israel has not transferred Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. This was told to TASS by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)—and in response to a request for comment on the respective statement by Israeli ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Brodsky .
“Israel has not transferred Patriot systems to Ukraine,” the Israeli MFA source said, adding that this was an official response.
The statement is incorrect, the source said, commenting on the statement by the Israeli ambassador to Kyiv.
Earlier, Brodsky stated that Israel transferred Patriot air defense systems to Kiev during the Ukrainian conflict, and that these systems were originally received from the US and date back to the 1990s. The ambassador, however, did not specify the exact timing of this transfer, or the number of such systems provided.
Meanwhile, The New York Times had reported in early May that Ukraine might receive additional air defense assets through the transfer of Patriot systems, including those from Israel.
