Armenia continues to work so that it can bring its share of stability to the region by promoting the peace agenda, as Yerevan considers it to be the main tool for responding to threats. This was stated at the 2025 APRI Forum Friday by Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armenpress reports.

The secretary of the Security Council, addressing the question of what the main threats are to Armenia's security and what Armenia is doing to confront these threats, said that discussions on security are a priority all over the world, and even those countries that at some phase already thought that security was not the priority, seem to have returned to that agenda, realizing and understanding the developments taking place in the world today.

“The main threat to Armenia's security continues to be the classic security threat; that is, the military threat not only to Armenia, but also to the entire region. Armenia continues to work so that it can bring its share of stability to the region by promoting the peace agenda. Of course, there are difficulties, but peace remains our agenda, and we see the peace agenda as the main tool for responding to threats,” Armen Grigoryan emphasized, and added that, naturally, there are processes taking place outside the region that are beyond Armenia’s control.

According to the Security Council chief, Armenia is trying to make stability a priority in its work with its partners. In this context, Grigoryan reminded that the text of the agreement on establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan has already been agreed upon, and negotiations are currently underway with Baku on the timeframe of its signing.

“Let us hope that the signing of the peace agreement will take place as soon as possible,” added the secretary of the Security Council of Armenia.

And reflecting on to the actions being taken by Armenia to establish stability in the region, he highlighted the importance of dialogue with regional countries. The secretary of the Security Council emphasized that these actions are important for ensuring an atmosphere of stability around Armenia.
