Long-term cooperation between Venezuela and the US in the energy sector should be beneficial for both sides. The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, stated this following a meeting with US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.

“A long-term and effective partnership on the energy agenda should become an effective engine of bilateral relations [with the US], being beneficial and complementary for the people of both countries,” Rodriguez noted. She added that cooperation in the energy sector should develop in an unhindered manner.

Also, the acting president of Venezuela expressed confidence that the current disagreements between her country and the US can be resolved diplomatically. She noted that political and energy dialogue should become equivalent channels for the development of US relations with Venezuela.

Rodriguez said that projects in the oil and natural gas, mining and power industries were discussed during the meeting with Wright.
