The Japanese government and the ruling Liberal Democratic Party are discussing the possibility of delivering—under certain conditions—defense products to countries involved in armed conflicts, The Mainichi newspaper reported.

It was noted that the principled ban on Japanese supplies to countries involved in conflicts will remain in force, but exceptions are being considered in the event of "special circumstances" based on national security needs.

Japan's ruling party is considering an approach according to which the matter of the country’s deliveries of defense products to countries involved in conflicts will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
