Strangers attacked former Iranian presidential candidate Mehdi Karroubi, when he headed to Friday prayer. At the moment no information on his level of health is available.

Earlier Iranian police applied tear gas and truncheons for dispersion of oppositionists, gathered at Tehran University for Friday prayer. Former president of Iran Rafsanjani, political opponent of incumbent president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was delivering sermon in the University building. Rafsanjani, in particular said that majority of Iranians have doubts in election results.

He emphasized, that all detained on the opposition protest actions have to be released. Besides, he called to the freedom of press within the law. Rafsanjani speech was interrupted, when, supporters of oppositionist, presidential candidate Mir Hossain started to chant his name.
