YEREVAN. – The OSCE Mission conducted a planned monitoring at the boundary between Armenia and Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

The monitoring was held in the direction of Aygepar village of Armenia’s Tavush Region and Alibeyli village of Azerbaijan’s Tovuz Region. A visual communication was established between the monitoring teams from a distance of 700 meters. The monitoring passed without incidents.

From the Armenian side of the border, the monitoring was conducted by Christo Christov and Evgeny Sharov, Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office.

From the Azerbaijani side of the boundary, the monitoring was held by Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, and his field assistant William Pryor.

Azerbaijan has violated the ceasefire, at its boundaries with Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, 7,960 times in the first seven months 2013. As a result of Azerbaijan’s breach of the truce, three Armenian military servicemen were killed and nine others were wounded. In addition, a civilian was wounded.
