The traffic at Stepantsminda-Lars Highway, which leads to the Armenian border, has been restored on Saturday at around 1:30pm and 2pm.

The Georgia Road Department informed the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Armenia that light passenger vehicles are permitted to cross the Russian-Georgian border via the Upper Lars checkpoint.

Around 150 vehicles have already crossed the border in one hour since the reopening of the road.

The buses and trucks, however, will be permitted to again travel on this section of the highway as of Sunday.

But the traffic along this road will be stopped at night in the coming days, so as to completely finish the road clearance.
