YEREVAN. – Our presence at the rally is not a goal in itself, we are here because the country is in a tough situation, MP from Prosperous Armenia Vartan Oskanian said addressing the opposition rally in Yerevan.

Unless there is regime change, the physical existence of Armenia will be under threat, Oskanian said. The situation is aggravated by the fact that the authorities pretend “as if everything was ok”.

“The government wants to extend its political monopoly by the constitutional reforms. The authorities do not want and are unable to take any positive steps, because there has been a flawed system for many years,” said Oskanian who has been holding a seat in the government for many years.

At the same time Oskanian assured that the attempt to change power will be carried out by constitutional methods only.
