According to the YouGov research, the majority of residents of the UK want to ban Muslim women from wearing the Islamic veil or burqa, the traditional Muslim clothing which are completely covering the face, The Independent reported.

As it turned out, 57% of Britons are in favour of ban and only 25% against it. At the same time, young people aged from 18 up to 24 were the only age group to oppose a ban and people older than 65 were most categorical. Thus, 78% of Britons support a ban on this type of clothing.

In addition, during the poll it was turned out that 46% of Britons wanted to ban the burkini, while just 30 per cent opposed such a measure.
