YEREVAN. – The amount, which was required by the company that is prepared to install video cameras at the polling stations in Armenia, is much more than it was planned for the implementation of this function.

Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia, Tigran Mukuchyan, on Friday told the aforementioned to reporters, as he reflected on the matter of installing video cameras for the parliamentary election to be conducted in the country on April 2.

He recalled that a committee was set up regarding the installation of video cameras at the polling stations, and this committee had announced a respective contest.

“As far as we are aware, only one [business] subject took part in the contest, [and] which presented its requirements,” noted Mukuchyan. “After that, some discussions started.”

The CEC chief added that the said committee on Thursday convened a meeting and held discussions, and that the representatives of this company also participated in them.

“And, in fact, the matter is at the discussion phase, since the amount required by this organization is lot more than it is planned for these functions,” stated Tigran Mukuchyan. “Now, naturally, other organizational options are discussed.”
