YEREVAN. – A trial was held Friday into the case of extraditing Armenian citizen Hrachya Harutyunyan, who is serving a prison sentence in Russia, to Armenia.

No information has yet been obtained in connection with the dates for his transfer, the Ministry of Justice of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The impediment of the financial commitments, with respect to Harutyunyan’s being handing over to Armenia, already has been eliminated.

Not carrying out the financial compensation requirement, which was made to him, was an obstacle before the extradition of this Armenian prisoner.

The truck, which Hrachya Harutyunyan was driving, crashed into a passenger bus in July 2013, in Moscow Oblast (province), Russia. The accident claimed 18 lives. The Armenian driver was sentenced to 6 years and 9 months in prison.
