Vardan Sargsyan, 20, who died in Karabakh on Friday, was from Lusagyugh village of Armenia’s Aragatsotn province.
According to the mayor of the village, Kajik Zakaryan, the soldier was the only son in the family: he has left behind two sisters.
Vardan was from a socially vulnerable family. His father is a forester.
The soldier was to be discharged in a few months.
Earlier, three Armenian servicemen were killed as a result of the firing by the Azerbaijani armed forces on Friday.
The adversary violated the ceasefire regime at about 6:05 pm on Friday, using AGS-17 in the direction of the protection area of one of the central military units under the subordination of the Defense Army. Consequently Defense Army servicemen Arayik Matinyan (born in 1997), Vigen Petrosyan (born in 1997) and Vardan Sargsyan (born in 1997) were fatally wounded.
