YEREVAN. – Armenia’s ambassador to UK, Armen Sarkissian, who is nominated as the presidential candidate of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), on Sunday returned to Great Britain.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned that Sarkissian met, at Zvartnots International Airport of capital city of Yerevan, with the Armenian parliamentary delegation heading to Strasbourg, France, but he did not speak about his nomination.

His respective talks with the National Assembly (NA) factions are slated for early February.

At his talk last week with President and RPA Chairman Serzh Sargsyan, Armen Sarkissian had asked for time to make a final decision.

President Sargsyan had expressed a wish that the fourth President of Armenia be elected with broad parliamentary consent. From this viewpoint, he had underscored the need for the RPA presidential candidate to hold respective talks with all NA factions.

Also, Serzh Sargsyan had said their desire was that the presidential election at parliament take place in one round.

The Armenia presidential election in the National Assembly is slated for March 2.
