YEREVAN. – Digital transformation is an opportunity to have a country with efficient governance and economy.

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Karen Karapetyan, on Friday stated the aforementioned at the international conference, entitled “Digital Agenda in the Age of Globalization,” and which was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Presenting Armenia’s digital agenda, the PM stressed that there are no alternatives to digital transformation, Press Office of the Government of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The information technology [(IT)] sector is actively developing in Armenia,” Karapetyan noted, in particular. “We have not yet summed up the results of last year, but we expect some 28- to 30-percent growth.”

Also, the PM noted that a rapid digital advancement is carried out in Armenia.

The prime ministers of the Eurasian Economic Union countries—Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan—as well as international IT experts and specialists attended this conference.
