Japan and the United States agreed to raise pressure on North Korea and not to fall for North Korean “smile diplomacy,” said Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the joint press conference with US Vice President Mike Pence, Japan Times reported.

“Unless North Korea shows sincere willingness to denuclearize itself and take concrete steps toward that goal, we cannot expect any meaningful dialogue,” Abe told reporters.

A compromise with North Korea only leads to provocations, said US Vice President Mike Pence adding that the US will increase its pressure until there is complete denuclearization.
